After living through two straight weeks of rain since we had moved to Greenville, this stay-at-home Mom was seriously reconsidering not only her new role but also the title of this blog!
Alas, I decided to stick it out- on both accords.
You see, it IS always sunny in Greenville. It's always sunny in our apartment, or at the museum, or at the grocery store, or wherever little June bug and I may be. She brings sunshine and happiness and pure joy to simply everyone she meets.
Today, she brought the sunshine to me. Yes, the sun was already shining bright outside as we made our trip walking around the pond and then down to the playground. We decided to swing first and as June held tight to me and laid her head on my shoulder, joy filled my heart. In that moment, which felt like it lasted for an eternity, I didn't have any other care in the world. My baby, who trusts me with her heart and soul and life, just held me as we swung together, the breeze blowing through our hair.
As I lay her down for an afternoon nap, we sing and rock and snuggle. I take a deep breath and smell peanut butter from lunch and diaper cream from a recent change. Gross? Nah. A smell; a memory that I never want to forget.
Wishing you a sunny day,
Lauren
